小さな守り神、シーサーのシリコンモールドをつくりました🌸

We made a silicone mold of Shisa, a small guardian deity 🌸

Hello, this is LALA 🫧

Thank you for always reading🌸

Today, the shisa mold I've wanted to create for so long has finally been completed and released,
so I'd like to write a little about that🐾

■ Why I decided to make shisa

When I design molds,
it's not so much "I have to make this!"
but more often "something I casually noticed in daily life" or
"when a customer's words encouraged me" that sparks an idea🍃

The shisa is exactly like that.

When I received messages from customers asking, "Do you have shisa molds?"
and "I'd love to make a shisa with Jesmonite!"
I was incredibly happy and at the same time thought,
"Shisa would definitely be a perfect match for Jesmonite..."
and decided I wanted to make one!🌷

Shisa have the image of strong guardian deities, but
if you look closely, their expressions are gentle,
and they also have a warm atmosphere, like a "presence that quietly protects the entrance of a home."

I increasingly felt the desire to create a shisa that isn't just an art piece to display,
but rather a little friend who is simply "there."

That's how the creation of this shisa mold began🫧

■ About making the master model

This design was actually quite challenging💦

I kept creating 3D data and thinking,
"This isn't quite right."
Then I'd print it, look at it, and think,
"I want it a bit rounder...!"
This went on and on.

The balance between the face and the mane was particularly difficult.
If it was too cute, it wasn't right,
but if it was too strong, it wasn't LALA's style🤔💭

In the end, I scrapped about 3 to 4 patterns❣

But because of that,
I feel like I finally found the shape
that felt just right✨

■ From mold completion to prototype production

When I first made a prototype with Jesmonite after the mold was completed,
the little presence resting in my hand was just so adorable.

I found myself more excited about "lining them up in different colors!"
than the actual production🫶

Actually, I secretly think it would be perfect for "shisa painting experiences"...!🎨

It's also a convenient size for painting with children,
making mini gifts for friends,
or using in workshops◎

■ Now available for purchase◎

And so,
the shisa mold in M size is now available!🐾✨

It has become a mold that feels like a precious work that I finally brought to fruition.

■ Conclusion

Mold making is a series of mundane tasks, but
I love the moment when a shape truly comes to life🌙

This shisa, too,
has become a piece that makes me feel "I'm glad I made it."

Also, every time I introduce new product photos on Instagram,
it makes me incredibly happy to see so many followers react,
and it motivates me every day💙

I'll gradually write more about
the behind-the-scenes of production and new molds
on the blog✍️✨

Thank you for reading🤍
